Determining if a difference has been made in students' minds isn't magic, but it does require some deliberate care.  Below are the assessments that we administered before and after Boot Camp I to evaluate our impact on the student's attitudes about their abilities.  Note that it's important to be able to correlate a student's pre survey to a post survey, but it's at least equally important to maintain anonymity.  To accomplish this, we randomly assigned student numbers to all of the participants in Boot Camp I.
